Girls Golf Finishes Season (09/26/2018)

(By CSZ Sports Writer Kenn Staub)  The KSAC girl’s finished the 2018 regular season playing the 2,215 yard, par 35 Foxburg Country Club. Clarion came home in third at the event with a 188. Rachel Howard (60), Amanda Matus (60), and Maya Patterson (68) put up scores that went toward the team total. Lauren Winters also competed and shot a 78. This was the Bobcats’ fourth third place finish of the season. They earned runner-up status twice.

Medalist honors went to AC Valley’s Cami McNany, who carded a 46. The Falcons’ completed their six match season sweep with a three-person total of 163.

Howard’s scoring average of 56.83 was fifth in the KSAC among those golfers participating in at least five of the six megamatches. The Bobcat junior had two top fives, with her best result coming at the season opener where she was third.

Junior Amanda Matus posted a 60.67, her scores improving as the season progressed.

Patterson, a junior, had an average of 61.83. She finished in the top five twice this season, placing fourth at the first two matches of the season.

First year team member, freshman Lauren Winters, finished with a 69.17.

McNany was first among the young ladies of the KSAC with a 46.17 followed by her AC Valley teammate Jayden Rottman with a 47.5.
