Bobcat Gridders Fall To Ridgway/Johnsonburg (10/06/18)

The Clarion Area Bobcats fell from the unbeaten ranks, on Friday (October 5th) with a 28-15 loss to visiting Ridgway/Johnsonburg, at Memorial Stadium. With the loss, the Bobcats are 6-1 and now a game behind the Elkers who are at 7-0, in the District Nine League Large School Division.

The Elkers opened the scoring at 4:43 of the first quarter on a one yard run by Evan Furlong. Daunte Allegretto’s kicked the extra point giving the Ridgway/Johnsonburg a 7-0 lead.

Quarterback Gabe Watts scored on a fourteen yard run, at 11:22 of the second quarter. The PAT attempt was unsuccessful and the Elkers were up 13-0. Ridgway/Johnsonburg went up 21-0, at 4:52 of the same quarter, when Paul Gresco hit Watts on a ten yard scoring pass and the Elkers converted on the two-point conversion.

Logan Minich got the Bobcats on the board with a three yard touchdown run with thirty-six seconds left in the half. He also scored the two-point conversion, cutting the Elker lead to 21-8.

Ridgway/Johnsonburg went ahead 28-8, at 8:41 of the third, on a four yard run by Watts and an Allegretto kick.

The Cats scored the game’s last points, with 1:25 left in the contest when Cal German hit Logan Minich with a five yard touchdown pass, followed by Archer Mills kick.

The Bobcats will travel to Bradford on Friday (October 12th).
