Several Local Wrestlers Have Good Showing At Clarion University Freestyle And Greco State Qualifiers (04/10/19)

The 2019 Clarion University Freestyle and Greco Wrestling State Qualifying Tournaments were held at Clarion Area High School on Saturday, April 6th, and several local placed, qualifying for the State Tournaments.

The top four place winners in each division/weight class qualify for PAUSAW States and if you qualify in either Freestyle or Greco, you are eligible for both. This year’s State Tournament will be held at Central Mountain High School, on Friday – Sunday, May 17th-19th.

Clarion’s Cutter Boggess captured first place in the Freestyle Cadet 160 pound division and second place in the Greco Cadet 160 pound class.

Dalton Wenner of the Partner Trained Wrestling Club also captured Gold, finishing first in the Freestyle Novice 74 pound class. Dallas Blauser, of Partner Trained, won the Freestyle Bantam 53 pound division

Logan Powell, also of Partner Trained, placed second in the Freestyle Schoolboy 97 pound weight class and third in the Greco Schoolboy 97 pound division.

Clarion’s Colton Zacherl took third place in the Greco Junior 138 pound division. Dane Wenner, Dalton’s brother, also of Partner Trained, finished fourth in the Freestyle Schoolboy 106 pound division.
