Lady Cats Fall In D9 Title Game, True Second Game Moved To Saturday (05/30/19)

The Clarion Area Lady Cats fell to DuBois Central Catholic 7-2, in the District Nine Class A title game, at Showers Field, in DuBois on Wednesday night (May 29th). The Cats will now face Otto-Eldred in a true second place game, which has been moved to 11 a.m. Saturday (June 1st), at Heindle Field, in the sports complex across from Manzell Stadium, in DuBois.

The Lady Cardinals jumped out to a big 7-0 lead in the top of the first. But the Cats held them at bay the rest of way.

Clarion scored their runs in the bottom of the sixth, to set the 7-2 final.

Jordan Best had two hits, including a triple and scored a run. Tori Vega singled and had an RBI. Brenna Campbell singled and scored. Kait Constantino had a pair of hits and Payton Simko had a single.

Kait threw nine strikeouts.
