Clarion Area Golf Roundup (08/22/19)

The Clarion Area Golf Teams were recently in KSAC Mega Matches, with the Lady Cats competing at Clarion Oaks Golf Club on Tuesday (August 20th) and the Bobcats playing at Cross Creek Resort on Wednesday (August 21st).

Tuesday:

The Lady Cats’ McKayla Kerle was the medalist with a 47, finishing six strokes ahead of teammate Rachel Howard, Moniteau’s Kendall Grossman and Cranberry’s Andrea Ziegler who finished in a three-way tie for second with 53’s.

Clarion’s Amanda Matus and Maya Patterson each carded 61’s. Clarion doesn’t compete for the team standings.

Moniteau finished in first place, followed by Keystone and Cranberry.

The next KSAC Girls’ Mega Match will be at the Foxburg Country Club next Monday (August 26th).

Wednesday:

Jackson Fox fired a third place 43, to lead the Bobcats to a second place finish. The Cats finished two strokes off the pace, with a 245. Moniteau lead the field with a 243.

Other top five team scores were: Clarion-Limestone with a 253, Keystone with a 312 and Forest Area with a 318.

Josh Craig finished with a 44, Lake Staub carded a 49, McKayla Kerle shot a 54, Mitch Geiger had a 55 and Kyle Porciello totaled 59 for the Cats.

C-L’s Hayden Seigel was the medalist with a 39 and Moniteau’s Ethan McDeavitt was second with a 40.

The next KSAC Boys’ Mega Match will be held at Hunter Station, next Thursday (August 29th).
