Clarion Area Soccer Preview And Roster (08/27/19)

The 2019 Clarion Area Lady Cats Soccer Team kicked off their preseason training on August 12th. 

The team is a co-op between Clarion Area and Clarion-Limestone.  The 2019 roster has 18 players, 12 from Clarion Area and 6 from Clarion-Limestone. 

Returning for their final season are seniors Lauren Troutman, Megan Stahlman, and Nellie Hannold. 

First year players are Chesney Boggess, Gabby Klein, Bella Klein, Felicia White, Breanna Hannold, Evelyn Lerch, Livia Weckerly, and Anna Gribik. 

Jenna Miller, who was sidelined by injury late in the 2018 season, is ready to lead the defensive and Hannah Hazlett begins her second full season as starting goalkeeper. 

There are a number of sophomore and junior players ready to step their games up as well.  Emily Grabiak, Joyce Kim, Ava Cherico, Robyn Stahlman, and Ruby Smith have all impressed in either spring club games or preseason training.  

With so many new faces, one of my biggest concerns was team chemistry.  After spending two weeks seeing the girls train, that concern has passed; the team has meshed quite well over a short time period.  The entire team has been very focused and working hard through both conditioning and technical drills.   

Last week the girls chose team captains Lauren Troutman, Megan Stahlman, and Jenna Miller for the 2019 season. 

The girls have a scrimmage scheduled for Thursday, August 29th at home, and will kick off their regular season by hosting the Brockway Lady Rovers on Tuesday, Sept 3rd.
