Beau Verdill Records Five Goals In C-L Lions Boys Soccer Win Over East Forest (09/20/19)

The Clarion-Limestone Lions Soccer Team traveled to East Forest Thursday (September 19th) afternoon to meet up with the Fires for the first time in the season.

East Forest scored first on a free kick that took a strange bounce over the goalie’s head.

The Lions scored the next goal when Cody Whitling played the ball to Beau Verdill who was able to score. Verdill had the next two goals for the Lions with the assists coming from Paul Leonhardt and Ben Murtha.

The Fires scored their second goal from a corner kick. Forest also scored from a penalty kick.

Paul Leonhardt was the next Lion to score, with Bailee Verdill on the assist. Cody Whitling had a “rolling” goal to finish off the first half scoring. Beau Verdill had the assist.

The halftime score 5-3, Lions.

The Fires were the first to strike in the second half for their fourth and final goal of the game.

Leonhardt scored from a penalty kick. He then gets the credit for the assist for Beau Verdill’s fourth goal.The final goal of the game was a cross from Bailee Verdill to Beau Verdill.

Final score of the game: Lions 8 – Fires 4.

The next home game for the Lions is Monday evening at home against St. Mary’s with a 6:30 start time.Keep it up Lions!!
