Lions Boys Soccer Downs St. Marys 5-4 (09/24/19)

The Clarion-Limestone Lions Boys Soccer Team met up with the St. Marys Flying Dutchmen, on the Lions’ home turf, Tuesday night (September, 23rd).

Beau Verdill was the first to score, well into the first half of the game, with Paul Leonhardt having the assist.

St. Mary’s fired back right before the half to tie the game at 1-all .

Beau Verdill had his second goal of the game from a penalty kick. St. Mary’s answered that goal from a penalty kick of their own.

Bailee Verdill was able to get the ball to Beau Verdill for his third goal of the game. Cody Whitling was next to score with Ben Murtha on the assist.

St. Mary’s scored again to make the score 4-3 .

Paul Leonhardt had the final goal for the Lions. Beau Verdill had the assist.

St. Mary’s scored the final goal of the game.

Lion’s defense did an amazing job holding the Dutchmen back. It was a fun match-up to watch!

Final score: Lions 5-Dutchmen 4.

Lions next game is on the road Wednesday (September 25th). They travel to St. Mary’s to meet up with the Dutchmen again on their turf! Let’s hope the defense for the Lions has another stellar showing on the road!!!
