Brenna Campbell And Central Penn Volleyball Club -17’s Teammates Win Blue Ribbon Brawl, Earn Trip To AAU Nationals (03/05/20)

Clarion Area Bobcat volleyball standout Brenna Campbell (third from left in front row in photo) and her teammates on the Central Penn Volleyball Chargers 17 Black Travel Team, out of State College (Main Club in Elizabethtown), won the championship in the York County Blue Ribbon Brawl – AAU Super Regional, held Saturday, February 29th and Sunday, March 1st.

By winning the Gold, the Chargers who finished first out of a field of twenty-three teams, earned a spot in the 47th AAU Girls’ Junior National Volleyball Championships, which will be held June 16th to 28th, at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at the Walt Disney World Resort and the Orange County Convention Center, in Orlando, Florida. The teams may have matches at either or both venues, with additional sites to be added as needed.

The Chargers won all of their matches at the Super Regional, without losing a set, finishing with a match record of 7-0 and set record of 14-0.

The Chargers won three matches on Saturday. They started in Pool Play by defeating Ballyhoo 17 Rage, 25-11, 25-12 and followed that win with a 26-24, 25-14 victory over Fusion VBC Blue. Their first day of competition ended with a 25-20, 25-19 win over Fusion VBC White, in a Pool Crossover Match.

Day two opened with the Chargers defeating CPVC Grey 25-19 and 25-15, in a Gold Challenge Match. They then won two Gold Playoff Matches, the first a victory over Fusion VBC White, 25-18, 25-12, followed by a 25-12, 25-13 win over CPVC Blue.

The Chargers won the Gold Championship match, defeating Ballyhoo White, 25-11, 25-23.

Central Penn Volleyball’s 14 Black also won the championship in their division, to earn a trip to Nationals.
