Bobcats’ Jackson Fox Moving On To Second Round, In District Nine Class-AA Golf District Championships, C-L Duo Also Advances, (Posted 09/29/20)

Clarion Area’s Jackson Fox is advancing to the second round, of the Class-AA competition in the 2020 District Nine Golf Tournament. Jackson shot an 18-hole total of 81 yesterday (Monday, September 28th),at Bavarian Hills Golf Course in St. Marys.

Jackson finished the day in the tenth slot, with the top 12 golfers advancing the second round on Saturday (October, 3rd), also at Bavarian Hills.

Fellow Bobcat Devon Lauer barely missed the cut by just four strokes, shooting an 88 and missed the cut by 4 strokes.

The Bobcats were not entered in the team competition, which concluded with yesterday’s action. Coudersport won the Class-AA title and DuBois won the Class-AAA title.

Neighboring Clarion-Limestone who finished fourth in the Class-AA team standings, behind Coudersport, Ridgway, and Kane, with Hayden Siegel and Hayden Callen advancing. (Nick Aaron and Brady Fowkes also competed on the Lions’ team.)  The Lions’ “Hayden duo” each shot 78s, to tie St. Marys’ Lucas Benjamin for third, behind leader Mark Kraus from Elk County Catholic, who shot a 72 and Kane’s Curt Barner who captured the second slot with a 76.

Others advancing are: Brady Streich from Coudersport and Eric Christoff from Ridgway with 79s; Kane’s Max Bizzak and Curwensville’s Nate Hryn with 80s; and Jackson Craft from Punxsutawney and Collin Leiderbach fromVenango Catholic with 84s.

The Class-AAA medalist was Bradford’s Spencer Cornelius, who shot a 76.
