Lady Cats To Host West Shamokin In PIAA Quarterfinals On Saturday (Posted 11/11/20)

The Clarion Area Lady Cats will host West Shamokin in the PIAA State Volleyball Class-A Quarterfinals this Saturday November 14th, at 2:00PM.

The undefeated (21-0) District Nine Champion Lady Cats, the Pennsylvania Volleyball Coaches Association’s (PVCA) Number 1 ranked team in Class-A since the Preseason received a First Round Bye.

The District 6 Champion Wolves (20-1), ranked Number 2 since the Preseason advanced to the Quarterfinals, by downing District 5 Champion Conemaugh Township (17-5) in four sets (25-19, 25-20, 25-27, 25-20) on Tuesday, November 10th.

The winner of that match will advance to the Semifinals on Tuesday, November 17th, to face the winner of the other Quarterfinal match, between District 7 (WPIAL) Champion Bishop Canevin (16-1) and District 10 Champion Saegertown, which will also be played this Saturday. Bishop Canevin is ranked Number 3 and Saegertown (15-8) is ranked Number 5.

The winners of the Semifinal matches will advance to the State Championship match on Saturday, November 21st, at Cumberland Valley High School in Mechanicsburg.
