Baseball Bobcats Top Gremlins In Extra Inning Game

The Clarion Bobcats downed the Karns City Gremlins 12-11 in eight innings, in Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference Baseball action, at Pullman Park in Butler, on Monday (May 10th).

The Bobcats scored two runs in the top of the first and another in the second. With a Gremlins’ run in the third and another by the Cats in the top of the fourth, Clarion led 4-1. But the Gremlins pushed nine runs across in the bottom of the inning to take a 10-4 lead.

Clarion scored four runs in the fifth inning, Karns City answered with on in their half and the Gremlins led 11-8. Two Bobcat runs in the sixth and one in the seventh, sent the game to extra innings knotted at 11-all. An unanswered Clarion run in the eighth set the final.

Cameron Lapinto singled, drove in a run and scored three times for the Bobcats. Dawson Smail had a hit, an RBI and two runs scored. Ryan Alston singled and scored two runs.

Bryce Brinkley and Devon Lauer each singled, drove in a run and scored a run. Cole Slaugenhoup had a hit and an RBI. Hunter Craddock scored a pair of runs and Gary Matus scored a run and drove in a run.

Lapinto was the winning pitcher.

The Bobcats are 9-6 overall and 6-1 in the KSAC.
