Bobats’ Solid Baseball Season Ends With District Nine Quarterfinal Loss To ECC

The homestanding Clarion Area Bobcats fell to the Elk County Catholic Crusaders, 6-1, at Clarion County Park, on Tuesday, May 25th, in a District Nine Class-A Baseball quarterfinal game. The Cats finished the 2021 season with a 12-8 record.

After holding the Crusaders off the board, in the top of the first, with Cole Slaugenhoup hitting a double, to drive Dawson Smail, who walked earlier, home. the Bobcats scored their lone run in the bottom of the inning. ECC answered with two runs in the top of the second. They followed by scoring three more in the third and with a single run in the seventh, the 6-1 final was set.

Devon Lauer and Gary Matus both had singles for the Bobcats.

Joey Greci led the Crusaders with three hits, three RBIs and a run scored.
