Softball: Lady Cats fall to DuBois

The Clarion Area Lady Cats dropped a 20-6 (six inning) decision to the visiting DuBois Lady Beavers on Friday (May 14th).

The Cats jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning. The Beavers put five runs across in the top of the second and another in the third and Clarion answered with two runs in the bottom of the third, leaving DuBois with a one-run lead at 6-5.

The fourth inning saw DuBois scoring four runs and Clarion three, giving the Beavers a 10-8 lead. Four unanswered runs in the fifth and six more in the sixth by DuBois set the final.

Brennna Campbell went 4-for-4, including a double, for the Lady Cats. She drove in three runs and scored twice. Bri Forrest had a pair of doubles, with four RBIs. Payton Simko had two singles and scored twice.

Jordan Best singled twice and scored a run. Noel Anthony doubled and scored two runs. Kylee Beers singled and scored, and Ava Kiser had a hit.
