Cross Country: Bella Scott, Gavin Hoover Bobcats’ Top Finishers In Cross Country Meet With Cranberry; Hayden Weber First, Anna Hoover Second In Junior High Races

The Clarion Area Cross County Teams traveled to Cranberry on Tuesday (September 28th). Cranberry won the Boys varsity meet 116-46, while the Cranberry Girls won 15-50. The Clarion Junior High Boys won their race 18-40 and the Girls took second through fifth place in their race.

Bella Scott, the Bobcats’ only participant in the Girls’ varsity race, finished second with a time of 22:29. The Berries’ Kayla Hanna finished first, with a 21:43.

Gavin Hoover was the Bobcats’ top place finisher in the Boys’ race, finishing fifth, at 19:49. Other Bobcat Boys’ runners included: Ryan Alston, who finished eighth with a time of 20:22, Ben Lambert, who finished tenth at 20:42, Phillip Bartley who finished with a time of 20:49 and Owen Wilson who ran a 30:39.

Matt Woolcock ran an 18:12 for the Berries, to finish in first place.

Hayden Weber won the Junior High Boys race, with a time of 13:25. The Bobcats also had three more runners finish in the top five. Jonas Wilshire ran a 14:26 for second place, Joshua Turner finished fourth with a 14:39 and Nathan Frederick was fifth, being clocked at 15:35.

Cranberry’s Danika Wenner won the Junior High Girls’ race with a time of 14:41.

Clarion swept the rest of the top five positions. Anna Hoover finished second with a 15:56, Anna O’Toole was third with a time of 16:37, Raven Cunningham ran a 16:49 for fourth and Eliza Datko had a fifth place time of 17:47.
