Clarion Boys Golf Team’s Fine Team Season Ends In West Regional

The Clarion Boys Golf Team saw their fine team season come to an end , in the PIAA Western Regional Team Event, at Treasure Lake, in DuBois, on Thursday (October 7th).

The event featured the District Nine and Ten Champions in both Class-AA and AAA, playing on Treasure Lake’s Silver Course, with the winners advancing to the PIAA State Championships.

The Bobcats fell to Union City 330 to 344.

Kameron Kerle led Clarion with an 83. Mckayla Kerle, Devon Lauer and Lucas Mitrosky each carded 87s, and Owen Kriebel finished with a 108. All are underclassmen and will return for the Bobcats’ 2022 season.

Though the team season is done for the Bobcats, Mckayla, who won the District Nine Girls’ Class-AA Individual Championship and brother Kameron, who finished third in the District Nine Boys Class-AA Championship, will advance to the PIAA State Class-AA State Tournament, on Monday, October 18th at Heritage Hills Golf Resort in York.

For Union City, Josh James shot a 75, Tyler Parkhurst had a 77, Cole DeSimone finished with an 83, Matt Yaple scored a 95 and Matt Bennett carded a 99.

McDowell won the Class-AAA Match with DuBois 344-366.
