Clarion Area Coaches Jay and Jackie Kerle, are very pleased with the performances their son and daughter turned in.

“Kameron and McKayla’s parents are very pleased with the season As a coaches and parents, we are really proud of the golf season that our kids have had. They have worked really hard and this tournament was a great accomplishment.”

“It was a long couple of days. Heritage Hills is a long course, the kids rounds took 6 hours to play in super windy cold conditions.”

McKayla shared her thoughts on her round, “I was 8 over on just the par 3’s today and 12 over total for the day.  The par 3’s got the best of me, if I played them a little better, my score would have been more where I wanted it to be. My goal was to make the top 10 and I missed it by one stroke. Overall I’m glad that I made it to the state tournament and will hopefully get another shot at it next year.”

And Kameron’s thoughts, “ I was even on the par 5’s and I should have been under on them. My goal for the day was to shoot in the 70’s. Even though I met that goal, I had couple bad breaks and had trouble getting the ball to spin and stop on the greens. My goal for next year is to make it back to the state tournament.”

Kameron and McKayla are both thankful for all of the support from friends, family and Clarion Oaks golf course this whole golf season.
