Bobcats Down Vikings In KSAC Girls Basketball Matchup

The Clarion Area Bobcats hosted the Venango Catholic Vikings in a Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference girls’ basketball contest, on Wednesday (February 9th) and came away with a ten-point, 37-27 win.

Taylor Alston led the Bobcats with 20 points, including two 3-pointers. She also had 8 rebounds and seven steals. Jordan Best followed with 7 points, including a trey. Payton Simko, Noel Anthony, Becca Ketner, Natalie Durish and Makenzie Aaron each scored two points.

Clarion led 14-4 after one. The Cats had an 11-10 edge in the second, to take a 25-15 lead into the half. They had a 6-2 edge in the third, to lead 31-16 going to the fourth. The Vikings had an 11-6 fourth quarter advantage to set the final.

Lily Homan led Venango Catholic with a game-high twenty-two points.

Clarion is scheduled to host Iroquois, in a non-conference game tomorrow (Friday, February 11th), at 6:00 PM.
