Junior High Grapplers Do Well At District Nine Championships

The Clarion Junior High Wrestling Team had a fine showing at the District Nine Junior High Tournament, at Brockway High School on Saturday, February 19th.

The Bobcats finished sixth out of fourteen teams and had four wrestlers make the podium, despite only having seven wrestlers compete. Three wrestlers missed the meet due to illness or injury.

(Ethan Rex – 2nd place – 145-pounds)

Jake Henry captured first place in the 130-pound division. He finished the season with a 23-1 record. Two Bobcats finished in second place, Ethan Rex at 145 and Matt Alston at 170.

Finishing in third for Clarion was Heavyweight Jimmy Kerr.

This was the final event of the Junior High wrestling season.  The Cats were very successful in their dual meets also, finishing with a 7-1 record.
