Softball: Bobcats Fall To Beavers

The Clarion Area Bobcats fell 15-10 to the homestanding DuBois Beavers, in a non-conference softball matchup on Monday (April 4th).

The Cats opened the game with four runs in the top of the first inning. The Beavers answered with one in the bottom of the inning. Clarion moved out to a 6-1 lead with two more in the second. But DuBois had a lone run in their half, cutting the Bobcats lead to 6-2.

The Bobcats plated two more runs in the top of the third for an 8-2 lead. DuBois scoring four runs in the fourth and five more in the fifth the Cats found themselves down 11-8. Clarion cut the Beavers’ lead to 11-10 with a run in the top of the sixth. DuBois scored four more in the bottom of the inning and held Clarion off the board in the top of the seventh to set the final score.

For the Bobcats: Noel Anthony had a pair of doubles in three at bats, with two runs scored. Jordy Best had two hits, two RBIs and two runs scored. Kylee Beers singled twice, scored a run and drove in two runs. Payton Simko had two singles and scored a run.

Hadley Campbell singled, scored twice and had an RBI. Emily Troese and Bri Forrest each drove in two runs and scored a run. J.J. Wilson scored a run and Emeliegh Mahle had an RBI.

Clarion will travel to Cranberry on Wednesday (April 5th).
