Bailey Verdill Breaks Brother Beau’s Clarion-Lions Boys Soccer Single Season Scoring Mark In Senior Night Game

Bailee Verdill scored four first half goals, in the Clarion-Limestone Lions’ Boys Soccer 15-0 win over the Keystone Panthers, on Senior Night at the Clarion Area High School field, on Thursday, October 13th.

On his third goal of the evening, Verdill broke his brother Beau’s C-L Single Season scoring mark. Beau scored his record 36 goals, during his junior year in 2019. Bailee’s record currently stands at 38, with three regular season games and the playoffs yet to play.

Verdill also helped out on a number of the other Lions’ other goals.

C-L jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first half, with seven Lions scoring goals.

Bailee had the first three goals, followed by scores from Dany Schweitzer, Thomas Uckert, Joe Naser and Brady Pierce. Then Bailey scored his final goal followed by Isaac Lerch and Quinn O’Neill.

Tyler Bingham scored the first goal of the second half, followed by Reese Geiger and Schweitzer. Bingham then scored another goal and Blaise Cunningham followed with the final goal of the night.

In all, ten Lions put the ball through the goal.

Prior to the game, the Lions celebrated their four seniors and their parents.

Coach Don Montgomery had this to say about his seniors, “As far as the seniors go:  It’s been a pleasure coaching those guys over the last 4 years. It goes by so fast.

“I’m proud to be a part of their growth as players, leaders and young men.

“We’re going to miss them next season.”
