Basketball: Bobcat Boys And Girls Teams Down Forest Area

The Clarion Area Bobcats Boys and Girls both won KSAC Basketball contests with the Forest Area Fires on Friday (December 16th). The homestanding Bobcat Boys won their game 70-4, while the Girls won their game, played at West Forest, 41-15.
Boys Game
Clarion had a 49-4 lead at the half and scored 31 second half points.
Devon Lauer led Clarion with 27 points, including two treys. Gabe Simko also hit double-figures, scoring ten points. Derek Smail had eight points and Logan MacKinlay chipped in seven.
Four Bobcats contributed 4 points, Bryce Brinkley, Dawson Smail, Owen Kriebel and Mason Burford. Dauntae Girvan scored two points.
Mitch Bawden and Nathan Dietrich scored two points each for the Fires.
Girls Game
Clarion led 12-7 after 0ne and 16-10 at the half. With a 13-4 Bobcat edge in the third, the Cats led 29-14 heading to the last stanza and a 12-1 Clarion edge there set the final.
Three Bobcats scored in double-figures. Sophie Babington led the way with 16 points, including five three-pointers. Taylor Alston had twelve points, while Gia Babington had 11 points including a three.
Alivia Diehl scored two points.
Amber Guzzi had five points for the Fires.
