Wrestling: Bobcats Down Rovers 42-23

The Clarion Area Bobcat grapplers hosted the Brockway Rovers on Thursday (January 26th) and came away with a 42-23 win.

Clarion Head Coach Lee Weber shared his summary of the match:

Both teams were down three wrestlers each but the matches wrestled were exciting! Any time you can beat Brockway, we will take it.

At 114, Grayson Aaron gutted out a 4-1 win over an experienced Gabe Park.  Even though he is a rookie, he is surprising many of his opponents.

At 133, Zane VanTassel faced a tough Parker Pisarchick and was pinned in the first period.  Zane is going down to 127 so he should be more equal in strength from here on out.

At 139, Brendon Wright opened with an explosive takedown but the more experienced Colton Ross beat him on the mat.  Brendon need to wrestle more on his feet until his knowledge on the mat catches up.

At 215, Logan Edmonds made another exciting come back after falling behind 4-2 to Johnathan winnings.  Late in the 3rd Logan reversed and put him on his back for 4 points to pull out a 6-4 win!

At 285, Gavin Thompson of Brockway surprised Josh Beal with his aggressiveness and caught Josh on his back for a pin, one minute into the match.  Josh will be more prepared mentally next time.

Our next competition is this Friday and Saturday (January 27th and 28th) at the very tough Ultimate Warrior Wrestling Tournament!

Our next dual is Tuesday, Jan 31 at Redbank Valley!

(Good Win, Bobcats!!!! Thanks to Coach Weber for his summary!!)
