The host Clarion Area Junior Varsity volleyball team won the championship in their own Clarion Area Volleyball Booster Club Junior Varsity Tournament, on Saturday, September 2nd, held in the Main and Auxiliary Gyms.

The Bobcats went 3-and-3 in pool play. They were in Pool A, which also included Conneaut Area, Philipsburg-Osceola and Corry. Pool B included Clarion-Limestone, DuBois, Warren and Elk County Catholic.

The Cats defeated DuBois in the quarterfinals. They won their semifinal match against Philipsburg-Osceola, which defeated Clarion-Limestone in their quarterfinal match.

Clarion concluded their tournament run with a championship match victory over Conneaut Area. The Eagles reached the final by virtue of a quarterfinal victory over Elk County Catholic, followed by a win over Corry in the semis.

Clarion Junior Varsity Coach Tracy Durish shared, “The team worked hard all day and improved throughout the course of the tournament.  They fought hard and served tough, coming from behind several times to win.  It was a great day to be a Bobcat volleyball player.”
