Wildcats Down Owls On Clarion-Limestone Homecoming Night

The Central Clarion Wildcats hosted the Bradford Owls at the Clarion-Limestone Football Field, on Homecoming Night for Clarion-Limestone, on Friday, September 22nd, with the Wildcats triumphing 86-0.

Central Clarion opened up the scoring on a 15 yard touchdown pass from quarterback Jase Ferguson to Brady Quinn, at 10:09 of the first quarter. Thomas Uckert, who was perfect all night, connected on his first of twelve extra-points and the Wildcats led 7-0. Central pushed the lead to 14-0, at 5:52, with Ferguson connecting with Dawson Smail over the middle for another 15 yard TD and Uckert hitting number two.

Ferguson connected with Smail for the Wildcats’ next touchdown, from 37 yards out, with Smail catching the ball in stride at the goal line at 3:06 of the first. With Uckert’s PAT, Central was up 21-0.

The Wildcats’ lead was upped to 28-0 at 10:28 of the second quarter on a 10 yard touchdown run down the left side by Noah Naser, combined by Uckert’s fourth point after on the night. Smail was the recipient of another Ferguson touchdown pass, pulling the ball in at the back of the endzone at 7:43. And the PAT made it 35-0, Wildcats. Ferguson hit Mason Burford from 3 yards out for Central’s eighth touchdown on the night. Point-after… good, Wildcats 42-0.

Smail picked grabbed a punt that bounced in the air and ran it down the right sideline for a 34 yard touchdown at 3:37 and Uckert closed out the first half, with number eight. Central 56-0.

Clarion-Limestone held Homecoming festivities at halftime.

The Court included Queen Candidates: Gracie Dunkle, Lexi Coull, Lilly Mahle, Katera Sebastian-Sims, Emma Gougler and Grace Shick, and King Candidates: Jack Craig, Nicholas Aaron, Ty Rankin, Danny Wilson Coleman Slater and Colton Kiehl.

Lilly Mahle was crowned Queen and Danny Wilson was selected as King.

Quinn returned a punt 75 yards for a score, at 3:50 of the third; with the successful point-after, it was now 63-0.

Ethan Rex hit Brendan Wright down the right side for a 33 yard touchdown, PAT… good. 70-0 with thirty-nine seconds left in the third.

Briggs Beckwith scored on a 13 yard run, at 6:34 of the final stanza and with the point-after the score was 79-0. A Central Clarion safety By Alex Love moved the score to 79-0.

The final points came as Love ran through the middle for a 55 yard score and with the extra point the the final was set at 86-0.

Wildcats Coach Dave Eggleton was very pleased with his team’s performance. He mentioned that the offensive line was giving Ferguson plenty of time to make decisions on throwing to his receivers, handing of to ball carriers or running himself in the Run-Pass-Option.

He was very happy with his receiving core and running backs and lauded the play of the defense.

Coach Eggleton said the team really wanted to come out strong at the start of the game, which they did.

The 5-0 Wildcats are scheduled to travel to Karns City to face the 3-2 Gremlins, this Friday (September 29th).
