Bobcats Compete, Support, Medal at United Way 5/10K

The Clarion Cross Country Team took to the streets of Clarion on Saturday (September 30th) to Kickoff Autumn Leaf Festival week with other local teams, community members and PennWest-Clarion University teams and the big winner was The United way of Clarion County, the benefactor of the race!

The 10K went off first, Aaron Titus in from Ohio was the overall winner in 38:02 followed closely by Jonathon Hansford from Keystone in 38:15. Clarion Area’s Josh Turner finished 5th overall, winning his age group 12-15 in 39:52. The other Bobcat was Hayden Weber, who also cracked the Top 10, finishing 9th in 41:29.

Next, brought the larger race, the 5K. Bobcat Alum, Prince Brooks finished 3rd overall in 17:45, Prince will be running the New York City Marathon the first weekend in November with team NDSS with a goal of raising $2300. For Prince, it was a family affair, with 6th grader James Brooks winning the under 12 division and his sister 7th grader Alissa Brooks who has lit up the junior cross country courses this fall winning the 12-15 age group.

Top Bobcat Jonas Wilshire won the 12-15 age group for men in 17:47 with newcomer 7th grader Blace Easlon tight behind in 4th. Wyatt Aaron, Anthony Bartley, and soccer player Quinn O’Neil all finished in the top 10.

Ben Lambert medaled, taking 3rd in the 16-19 age group and Raven Cunningham finished 7th in the 12-15 age group!

It was a great day with some strong performances, a chance to support the community that supports us and kick ALF off with a bang!
