Playoff Roundup: Lions C-L Boys Down Brockway, Clarion Girls Fall To Redbank, In District Nine Class-A Playoff Action

Both the Clarion-Limestone boys and Clarion Area girls soccer teams entered the District Nine Class-A playoffs this week, with the Lions winning their opening match against the Brockway Rovers, while the Bobcats fell to the Redbank Valley Bulldogs.

Boys’ Soccer: Clarion-Limestone 3 – Brockway 2

The Lions and Rovers faced off at Wiser Field on Tuesday (October 24th), in a quarterfinal match.

Thomas Uckert began the the scoring with a goal in the first half, giving C-L a 1-0 lead. But a goal by Brockway’s Dylan Bash knotted the score at 1-1. The score would stand through halftime.

A Wyatt Boyden goal, followed by another by Dany Schweitzer gave the Lions a 3-1 lead.

Brockway’s Caleb Daughtery scored the match’s final goal, to set the final.

Lions goalie Isaac Lerch had 10 saves in the contest.

The Lions will now host Redbank Valley in the semifinals, at Wiser Field, at 4:00 p.m. Thursday (October 26th).

Girls’ Soccer Redbank Valley 9 – Clarion Area 1

Clarion traveled to Redbank Valley on Monday (October 23rd) for a quarterfinal matchup.

The Bulldogs won 9-1, to end the Bobcats’ season.
