Volleyball: Bobcats Down Forest Area And Venango Catholic; Also Link To Article On Tomorrow’s (Thursday, October 5th) Dig Pink Cancer Awareness And Fundraiser Event
The Clarion Area Bobcats hosted both the Forest Area Fires and Venango Catholic Vikings, in Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference volleyball action on Tuesday (October 3rd), with the Bobcat Varsity and Junior Varsity winning both of their contests in straight sets.
VARSITY MATCHES
Clarion 3 (25-3, 25-7, 25-8) – Venango Catholic 0
Alicyn Burford had 20 points (12 aces), a kill and two digs. Taylor Alston registered 10 points (6 aces) and two kills. Kelsey Best scored 10 points (2 aces). Addiwyn Campbell handed out 16 assists, scored 4 points (1ace), and got one dig.
Marley Kline delivered 11 kills to go along with 4 points (1 ace). Rhiannon Copenhaver had 4 points (2 aces) and two assists. Anna O’Toole registered 3 points, 4 kills an assist and a dig. Lacy Lauer had 2 points (1 ace) and a kill and Sophie Babington scored 2 points (1 ace).
Clarion 3 (25-3, 25-5, 25-10) – Forest Area 0
Anna O’Toole recorded 18 points (5 aces), 2 kills and a pair of digs. Addiwyn Campbell delivered 12 points (8 aces), 18 assists and a dig. Marley Kline had 12 points (4 aces) and seven kills. Alicyn Burford scored 11 points (1 ace), knocked down 3 kills and got a dig.
Kelsey Best scored 5 points (1 ace). Alivia Diehl registered five kills. Rhiannon Copenhaver had 1 point, a kill and a pair of digs. Natalie Durish had a dig and Taylor Alston had an assist.
JUNIOR VARSITY MATCHES
Clarion 2 (25-11, 25-6) – Venango Catholic 0
Aubrey Leonard scored 11 points (5 aces), to go along with 4 kills and two digs. Kelsey Best totaled 11 points (6 aces) and two digs. Rhiannon Copenhaver dished out 12 assists, scored 8 points (2 aces) and knocked down two kills.
Lacy Lauer had 6 points, a kill and a dig. Madison Schill scored 3 points and delivered three kills. Brinley Kiskadden scored 2 points (1 ace) and Lauren Brinkley registered four kills.
Clarion 2 (25-9, 25-5) – Forest Area 0
Lauren Brinkley scored 14 points (9 aces) and had a kill. Kelsey Best delivered 11 points (8 aces). Madison Schill totaled 5 points and three kills. Rhiannon Copenhaver was good for 4 points (3 aces) and two assists. Aubrey Leonard registered 4 points (3 aces) and a kill.
Addiwyn Campbell scored 2 points (1 ace), to go along with a pair of kills and two assists. Brinley Kiskadden scored a point, and Eve Gilmore and Lacy Lauer each had a kill.
The Bobcats will host North Clarion in the Dig Pink Cancer Awareness and Fundraiser event, Tomorrow (Thursday, October 5th).
