Clarion Area Bobcat Devon Lauer Selected To YDL Sports Network 2023-24 All-District Nine Preseason Basketball Team, Several Other KSAC Players Named

The YDL Sports Network announced their 2023-24 All-District Nine Preseason Basketball Team, which is chosen by the staff of the YDL Sports Network, on Wednesday, November 29th. Clarion Area Bobcat standout was among those selected. Both Boys and Girls Teams were selected.

Devon tied for sixth in District 9 in scoring last season with 16.8 points per game. He also contributed 3.2 rebounds, 2.6 steals, and 2.5 assists per game. Devon shot 48%, going 177 of 369 from the field which included 38.6% (61 of 158) from 3-point range.

Four other Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference (KSAC) players were named: Clarion-Limestone’s Jase Ferguson on the Boys Squad, and Redbank Valley’s Mylee Harmon, North Clarion’s Lily Homan and Moniteau’s Catherine Kelly on the Girls Team.

Jase helped the Lions to the District 9 Class 2A championship. He averaged 9.7 points, 5.4 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 4.7 steals per game during the 2022-23 campaign.

Mylee was the second-leading scorer in the district last season. She scored 21.0 points per game in helping the Bulldogs to an unbeaten regular season. Mylee was very instrumental in helping her team achieve the District 9 Class 2A championship, as well as, Redbank’s advancing to the second round of the PIAA State tournament.

Catherine helped Moniteau to a District 9 Class 2A runner-up spot in 2022-23. and averaged 15.0 points per game, good for sixth in District 9. She also recorded 4.6 rebounds, 2.1 assists, and 1.7 steals per game.

Catherine was a second-team All-District 9 selection last season.
