Wreath Gathering/Retirement Takes Place At Clarion And I-C Cemeteries
The gathering/retirement of Wreaths Across America wreaths at the Clarion and Immaculate Conception Cemeteries on South Second Avenue in Clarion took place on Martin Luther King Day, on Monday, January 15th, with a number of folks turning out. Several folks also gathered wreaths early, on Saturday, January 13th.
WAA Clarion County Coordinator Noreen Shirey shared her gratitude to those who came out in the chilly weather to help.
“A heartfelt thanks to… Lisa Shirey Craig and Megan Hull as We picked up, hauled and unloaded over 1,000 wreaths on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday (January 15th) morning.
“A huge thanks to Sharon Wagner, Josh Wagner, Matt Hillyard (Commander of Clarion Civil Air Patrol) Jim Klepfer, Dawn R. Miller and her daughter Olivia, two young men from Clarion High School, Cadet Bryan Johnson, and Theo Sweet, Cadet Commander, for helping to gather wreaths in the cold weather.
“The mission doesn’t end on Ceremony Day, so it is very much appreciated to those who came to help.
“Also big thanks to my son Spencer and my friend Tracy Weaver who braved the cold and wind, on Saturday, to gather wreaths for several hours to get a head start for Martin Luther King Day.”
