Girls Basketball: Bobcats Down Berries At Home
The Clarion Area Bobcats downed the Cranberry Berries 46-27, in Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference action, on Monday (January 15th).
The Bobcats led 12-2 after one and 22-10 at the half. Clarion outscored Cranberry 18-5 in the third and took a commanding 40-15 lead to the final stanza, where a 12-6 Berries’ advantaged set the final.
Taylor Alston led the Bobcats with seventeen points.
Sophie Babington hit in double-figures also, with 11, while Gia Babington scored nine. The pair combined for five 3-pointers, with Sophie hitting three and Gia collecting two.
Natalie Durish and Marley Kline contributed 5 points and three points respectively.
Cranberry’s Haylie led her team’s scoring with eight points.
Cranberry won the Junior Varsity contest 30-10.
The Berries led 4-3 after one quarter, 12-5 at the half and 20-10 after three.
Lacey Lauer led Clarion with seven points. Lilly Shirey scored 1 pointand Abby Felmlee contributed a free-throw basket.
Stewart led Cranberry with eight points.
The Bobcats are set to host Moniteau on Wednesday (January 17th).
