Bobcats Fall To Gremlins In KSAC Boys Basketball Semifinal
The Clarion Area Bobcats made a strong run at the end of their Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference semifinal with Karns City at PennWest Clarion’s Tippin Gymnasium on Friday (February 16th), but fell just short in a three-point 61-58 loss to the Gremlins.
Karns City led 17-8 after one period, 38-28 at the half and 57-37 after three.
The Bobcats outscored the Gremlins 11-4 in the final stanza.
Bryce Brinkley led the Bobcats with fifteen points, including three buckets from behind the arc.
Three others scored in double-figures. Gabe Simko and Dawson Smail scored 12 points apiece, while Devon Lauer came in with eleven, including a trey.
Derek Smail had 4 points, with Dauntae Girvan and Tanner Miller contributing two points each.
The Gremlins had three players in double-figures, Shane Peters with 18 points, Tate Beighley with 13 and Jacob Callihan with ten. The Karns City will face Clarion-Limestone, 48-38 winners over Redbank Valley in the other semifinal, in the Championship game, tonight (Saturday, February 17th), set for 8:00 p.m.
The Bobcats will next play in the District Nine Class A quarterfinals, hosting DuBois Central Catholic next Wednesday (February 21st), with tipoff set for 7:00 p.m.
