Baseball: Bobcats Down Panthers

The visiting Clarion Area Bobcats downed the Keystone Panthers 18-2, in four innings in Keystone Shortway Athletic Conference baseball action, on Wednesday (May 8th).

The Bobcats out scored the Panthers 3-1, in each of the first two innings, to take a 6-2 lead into the third.

Clarion scored two unanswered runs in the third and ten unanswered runs in the fourth, to close out the game.

Tanner Miller had a big game for the Bobcats, with 3 hits, 5 RBIs and and a run scored. Noah Harrison singled twice, scored 3 runs and drove in four runs. Dawson Smail had three singles and scored four runs.

Bryce Brinkley singled, scored 3 runs and plated two runners. Haden Weber singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored twice. Derek Smail singled and scored three runs. Devon Lauer singled, drove in 2 runs and scored once. Dauntae Girvan had an RBI and scored once.

Matt Alston was the went three innings on the mound, to pick up the win. He struck out two batters and allowed two runs on six hits. Ethan Rex pitched one inning, striking out two and allowing a hit.

The Bobcats are scheduled to host Moniteau, for Senior Day, this afternoon (Thursday, May 9th) at Clarion County Park. Senior Recognition is set for 4:00 p.m. and the game is to scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m.
