Clarion-Limestone Lion’s Brady Pierce And Coach Don Montgomery Selected To The NY/PA Corporate Cup Soccer Showcase, Set For Sunday, July 28th

Clarion-Limestone’s Brady Pierce has been selected to play in the NY/PA Corporate Cup Soccer Showcase, to be held at Kane High School on Sunday, July 28th.

Brady, a junior at C-L, who will be a fullback on the Pennsylvania Boys Silver Team, will be joined by Lion’s head coach Don Montgomery, who has been selected as an assistant coach on both, the Boys Gold and Silver Teams for Pennsylvania.

According to the organization’s website, “This event was created for the players and to help give soccer players more exposure in this area. We believe that we are on the right track… And don’t forget that July 28th in Kane is where it all goes down this year! We’ve got a lot planned and the players are very hyped! Join us!”

This event is much more than just outstanding soccer; it is a Happening!!

Longtime event organizer, Kris Linderman shared how this event has grown over the years. “Our central location is based around the Olean, Bradford area. Then we go out of that. Our first year we selected 10 schools from New York and 10 from Pennsylvania. We’ve expanded since then, so we’re up to like a total of 45 schools right now.

“We had 8 teams a couple of years ago and went to Gold/Silver format, 4 Gold games and 4 Silver. Allows more kids to participate. We have a total of 175 players participating this year an expect to have a couple of thousand in attendance.”

The Pregame Ceremonies, introducing the teams to everyone, will take place 1/2 hour before the game.

Coach Linderman mentioned, “Music will be played as game players walk out with youth players. Each game player selects the youth player to escort them. They are introduced as they walk out to field for the National Anthem before each game. Previous players, now in military lead the walk out to the field. This year, representing the Marines is A.J. Edgell and representing the Navy is Sarah Courtney.”

There will be 5 to 6 food trucks. You are encouraged to bring the family and spend the whole day if you want to.

There will be games going on throughout the day. Halftime entertainment will include Big Wheel Races for youth players and a lot of other things going on too.

Coach Linderman extends the NY/PA Corporate Cup Soccer Showcase’s special invitation for youth players to join the walk out to the field. “If any youth players want to participate and walk out with the game players, have them contact me. They are more than welcome to participate.”

Girls Silver match.  Pregame ceremony starts at 11:30am

Boys Silver match.  Pregame ceremony starts at 2:00pm

Girls Gold match. Pregame ceremony starts at 4:30pm

Boys Gold match. Pregame ceremony starts at 7:00pm.

Pregame ceremonies will begin approximately 30 minutes before each game.

Their is no admission charge to attend the event.

All four matches on July 28th will be live streamed on the Facebook page! All you have to do is like the page. The NY/PA Corporate Cup Soccer Showcase encourages you to, “Tell your friends and family across the world and they can watch if they can’t be there in person! Show your support for the players.”
