Bobcat Volleyball Team Captures Second Place At 2024 Nittany Valley Rally

The Clarion Area Bobcats volleyball team had a great showing at the 2024 Nittany Valley Rally, at the Nittany Valley Sports Centre, in State College on Saturday, August 24th, as they captured second place. They posted a 10-4 overall record for the tournament.

The Bobcats went 5-1 in Pool Play, downing Bellefonte 2-0 (25-22, 25-23) and Central Cambria 2-0 (25-12, 28-26), and tying Red Lion 1-1 (25-16, 24-26).

The Cats then downed Pleasant Valley 2-0 (15-8, 15-9) in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, they met next door neighbor Clarion-Limestone, winning in three sets (13-15, 15-6, 15-10).

The championship match saw Huntington come out on top in three sets (25-13, 22-25, 12-5).

A number of Bobcats had a big tournament.

Addiwyn Campbell had 10 aces, 89 assists, 19 digs and a kill. Marley Kline recorded 32 kills, 26 digs and seven aces. Hadley Campbell was very solid, with 32 kills and 34 digs. Natalie Durish had a team high 51 digs, to go along with 5 aces and an assist. Sophie Babington contributed 33 digs, 13 kills, 3 aces and an assist.

Ali Burford came away with 12 kills, 3 digs, a pair of aces and two assists. Alivia Diehl had 9 kills and a dig. Lacey Lauer recorded 3 aces and nine digs. Rhi Copenhaver finished with 3 digs and two aces. Anna O’Toole had four digs. Aubrey Leonard had a dig.
