Bobcat Golfers Win Fourth Straight District Nine Class-AA Boys Title

The Clarion Area Boys Golf Team won their fourth straight District Nine Boys Class-AA Championship on Monday, September 30th at Clarion Oaks Golf Club.
The Bobcats shot a 319 to claim the title, nine shots ahead of Keystone’s second place score of 328.
Kam Kerle shot a 74 for the Bobcats. James Keenen and Lucas Mitrosky both shot 80’s. Parker Miller finished with an 85 and Gabe Anderson recorded a 93. Gabe’s score didn’t count toward the team total.
The Final Team standings were: 1) Clarion (319), 2) Keystone (328), 3) Smethport (351), 4) Kane (354), 5) Elk County Catholic (359), 6) Cranberry (375) and 7) St. Marys (422).
The Bobcats now scheduled to advance to the Class-AA Boys West Sub-Regional against the District 6 Champion at Ebensburg Country Club, on Wednesday, October 9th.
The top 16 Class-AA individual golfers advance to the championship round to be played on Saturday, October 5 at Clarion Oaks. Tee times are scheduled to start at 9:00 AM.
The individual leaderboard of those advancing to Saturday: Kameron Kerle (74) – Clarion, Lou Nedzinski (75) – St. Marys, Phinn Chamberlain (76) – Kane, Sean Karg (78) – Keystone, Talon Wilson (79) – Keystone, Joe Rapp (80) A-C Valley/Union, Lucas Mitrosky (80) – Clarion, James Keenen (80) – Clarion, Tristan Sedor (80) – DuBois Central Catholic, Trenton Best (82) – Curwensville, Lawson Wetzel (83) – Coudersport, Dane Wenner (83) – Cranberry, Levi Howard (83) – Smethport, Chase Wahlers (84) – Coudersport, Colin Riekofsky (84) – Smethport, Tyler Rusalem (84) – St. Marys.
Keystone’s Jonathan Schultz also shot an 84, but lost in playoff for the 16th AA spot.
