Also of note, Chloe Fritch who plays on the Karns City boys team during the regular season, won the Class-AA Girls title and will also advance to states.

Clarion Assistant Coach Jackie Kerle shared about her three seniors, who competed in both rounds. “I’d like to start off with how impressed I am with all three of the seniors on our team.

“James gave it a good run and unfortunately came up a couple strokes short. He  has worked so hard and has played a huge role on our team over the past four years. He should be so proud of the player he has become.

Kam with proud parents – Bobcats Assistant Coach Jackie Kerle and Head Coach Jay Kerle

“Lucas had an amazing round cutting 6 strokes off his first round, good for a 3rd place finish and earning his second trip to states as an individual.

“Kameron went into the second round with a 1 shot lead and at the turn he was still 1 up on St. Mary’s Lou Nedzinski. Something must of lit a fire under him on the back 9 as he fired an impressive 5 under par to finish with a score of 69, to win by 8 strokes. This was Kam’s third individual district 9 championship and will cap off his fourth appearance at the individual state tournament.”

(Congratulations, Kam, Lucas and James and all the golfers!!!! And for those advancing have a great State Tournament!!!! Thanks to Jackie Kerle for her photos and quotes.)
