Girls Basketball: Bobcats Fall To Eagles
The Clarion Area Bobcats basketball team dropped a 35-26 decision to the homestanding Grove City Eagles on Thursday, December 15th.
Grove City jumped out to a 15-8 lead after one period, but a 5-2 Bobcat edge in the second closed the gap to 17-13.
Clarion had an 8-6 edge in the third, sending the game to the final stanza, trailing by just two points, 23-21. A 12-5 Eagles advantage set the final.
Marley Kline led the Bobcats with nine points. She sank 2 two-point field goals and five free throws. Lacey Lauer followed with 7 points, including a pair of treys and a free throw.
Sophie Babington scored 5 points, which included a three-pointer and 2 free throws. Alivia Diehl sank a 2 pointer and a free throw for three points, while Olivia Boddorf had a two-pointer.
Izzie Gamble led Grove City with a game-high sixteen points.
The Bobcats are scheduled to host DuBois on Monday (December 9th).
