Wildcats Down Bulldogs In D9 Wrestling League Action
The Central Clarion Wildcats traveled to Redbank Valley for a District Nine Wrestling League contest, on Wednesday (January 29th) and came away with a 47-20 win.
The match started with the 139 pound match, where Logan Powell pinned Colton Cicciarelli in 1:34, giving the Wildcats a 6-0 lead.
Redbank won the next three matches. Trenton Patton closed the gap to 6-3 with a 5-0 decision over James Sprague at 145. Grant Shoemaker registered an 18-3 technical fall over Ben Naser at 152, giving the Bulldogs the lead at 8-6. Jordan Smith downed Jeremiah Queenan with a pin at 1:20 in the 160 pound match and a 14-6 Redbank lead.
Mason Gourley pinned Redbank’s John Morris in 1:31 of the 172 pound bout and the Bulldogs’ lead was down to 14-12.
The Wildcats followed that with three straight forfeit wins by, Jake Henry at 189, Dylan Albertine at 215 and Hayden Hindman at 285. Central Clarion was up 30-14 at that point.
There was no match at 107.
Wildcat Drew Crompton pinned Ryker Kozakovsky at 1:23 of the match at 114, extending Central Clarion’s lead to 36-14.
Redbank’s Brandon Smith took the 121 match, pinning Jackson Mravintz in 3:52. The score now stood at Central Clarion 36 – Redbank Valley 20.
But the Aaron brothers finished out the match with victories for the Wildcats.
Wyatt Aaron pinned Caden Burns at 3:07 of the match at 127, giving Central Clarion a 42-20 lead.
Grayson Aaron closed out the match with a 19-4 technical fall over Micah Schreckengost at 127 to set the 47-20 final.
The match was held during Redbank Valley’s Senior Night.
