Jase Ferguson Is Wildcats Central Pennsylvania Chapter Of The National Football Foundation 2024-25 Academic Awards Recipient; Quinten Graham Receives Award For Keystone

The Central Pennsylvania Chapter Of The National Football Foundation held their 2024-2025 Academic Awards Banquet, at the Penn Stater Hotel & Conference Center on Sunday, March 16th. 

Jase Ferguson, who attends Clarion-Limestone and played for coach head coach and Assistant Principal Davey Eggleton, was the Central Clarion Wildcats 2024-2025 honoree. Also being honored was Keystone’s Quinten Graham.

Quinten played for Panthers’ head coach Todd Smith, former head football, basketball, and baseball coach at Clarion-Limestone and former head basketball coach and assistant football coach at Clarion, who is in his 29th year as a teacher at C-L.

The criteria for a student athlete to be named their team’s scholar athlete include: academic achievement – forty percent of the score, athletic achievement – forty percent and extra curricular/community service participation – twenty percent.

According to the national website: “Our mission is to promote and develop the power of amateur football in developing the qualities of leadership, sportsmanship, competitive zeal and the drive for academic excellence in America’s young people.”

Both young men also won special awards, which came with $1,000 in scholarship money. Jase, the son of Mike and Wendy Ferguson, received the Brad Bars Creative Investment Group Award, while Quinten, the son of Kelly Hartzell and Chuck Kuglar, recieved the Joe Sarra Award.

This years featured speaker was former Penn State and Pittsburgh Steelers’ player Jesse James. He also played for several other NFL teams.

The emcee for the festivities was WTAJ-TV’s Riley Holsinger.
