2nd Annual Wildcat Hustle To Be Held On Thursday, July 24th; Benefits Central Clarion Wildcats Cross Country Team; Runners Everywhere Are Invited – Registration Information And Links Are Included In The Article
The Central Clarion Wildcats will host their Second Annual Wildcat Hustle Cross Country Race on Thursday, July 24th, with runners everywhere invited to attend.
This is not a Road Race. The Starting Lines will form at the Clarion-Limestone Sports Complex and surrounding grounds, just off Route 322, at C-L School Road.
Junior High Coach Kelsey Makin shared this summary about the Race, the work involved in pulling this big event off and how the proceeds help the team.
The Junior High and Varsity practice together so all of us coaches work together throughout the season.
All of the coaches have been working to put this on for our team and of course our athletes parents volunteer in many ways as well.
Our athletes are given the opportunity to run the 5K and if not, they are asked to help out the day of the race. Usually directing runners on the course, leading the Kids 1 mile or helping with the tiny tots race.
Our 2nd Annual Wildcat Hustle is a fun and family-friendly event that brings together our community in support of the Central Clarion Wildcats Cross Country Team, a co-op between Clarion and Clarion-Limestone.
The race is held at the Wildcats’ home course.
It’s a 3.1-mile course featuring grass, trails, dirt roads, and a few hills.
For the Kid’s 1 Mile Race, it is two loops around the Clarion-Limestone Nature Trail and nearby field and the Tony Tot’s Dash is a quick run down the football field!
This fundraiser plays a crucial role in helping our athletes achieve their goals. With the donations from local businesses and the money we raise from our fundraiser, our athletes are provided numerous opportunities. It helps them attend weekend invitationals, positive team experiences throughout the season.
This year we hope to purchase new team warm-ups with our co-op name and logo.
As our team grows, so do our needs and this event helps us reach our goals. We’re grateful for the support of our athletes, families, local businesses, and community.
Along with the running events, there will be tickets available to purchase in a chance to win a raffle basket. These have been generously donated by local businesses, families, and organizations.
All proceeds go directly to supporting our athletes.
We invite all ages to come and participate in this event. We also extend a warm invite to other cross-country teams within District Nine.
We could not host this event without the dedication of our athletes, the support of their families, and the generosity of our community partners.
Coaches Oakes, Hepfl and I have all worked on this event together and our parents help out as well to make it run as smooth as possible.
Timing services will be done by Runner’s High Timing and Computer Services, from Grove City.
