St. Joseph’s Liberty 5K Run/Walk To Be Held Saturday, July 5th; Registration Information And Links At Bottom Of The Article
St. Joseph’s Liberty 5K Run/Walk, a post-festival finale event to the 86th Annual 4th of July Celebration, will be held Saturday, July 5th at 8 am at the historic Lucinda Train Station, 1040 Lander Drive in Lucinda, Pennsylvania (I-80 Exit 60, Route 66 North 10 miles).
This year’s race will take place on the scenic Rail 66 Trail and will start at the top of the hill on Maple Drive, out and back on the trail. This willbe a fast 5K with an elevation loss.
Pre-registration is encouraged and limited race day registration begins at 7 am, at the train station. The event, now in its 11th year, will be held rain or shine on the beautiful Rail 66 Country Trail.
Race awards will be presented to the top male and female performers in various categories. Timing will be provided by Miles of Smiles Timing Services (results posted on smileysmiles.com). Absolute Clarion DJ Services will be providing the entertainment.
The Lucinda Train Station can be accessed via Maple Drive, which is the first left immediately following St. Joseph Church on Route 66 North. Parking is available in the field near the Lucinda Train Station or at St. Joseph’s Church lot. If you park at St. Joseph’s, it’s just a short walk to the train station. The station is a short drive from Cook Forest State Park.
St. Joseph’s 86th Annual 4th of July Celebration will be held on July 4 from 11 am until 4 pm on the parish grounds. The event features their traditional all-you-can-eat chicken and ham dinners, games of skill and chance for all ages, quilt tent, called-number games, live entertainment and a grand prize drawing worth over $10,000 in cash and prizes. Awards: Top overall male and female finisher and top three male and female finishers in each age group: 14 and under, 15 – 19, 20 – 29, 30 – 39, 40 – 49, 50 – 59, 60-69, 70+
