Group Of Local Runners All Complete Cook Forest 25K Trail Challenge

Two Central Clarion Wildcat Cross Country teammates, a past Clarion Area High School graduate and a few local educators and business owners competed in the Cook Forest 25K Trail Challenge on Saturday, August 16th at Cook Forest State Park. Bryn Anderson, Josh Turner, Corbin Ragley, Tiffany Jackson, Dave Jackson, Andy Turner, Dan Clark, Chandra Sheftic, Chris Kocher and Luke Huwar all ran the grueling 25K distance.

Although the race states it is a 25K, all runners completed 17 miles of hilly terrain covering over 2400 feet in elevation.

Josh Turner is a senior at Clarion Area High School and is a varsity member of the Central Clarion Wildcat Cross Country and Spring Track Team. Josh is also a member of the Clarion Comets, Indoor Track Team. Corbin Ragley is a 2010 graduate of Clarion Area High School where he played baseball and football.

Josh Turner finished second in the Male 1-19 age group and in seventh place overall out of 100 runners. Josh’s time was 2:38.02.60.

Bryn Anderson is an eighth grader at Clarion Area High School and a member of the Junior High Cross Country and Spring Track Teams for the Central Clarion Wildcats. Bryn is also a competitive, USAG Level 9 Gymnast for the Butler Gymnastics Club and a member of the Clarion Comets, Indoor Track Team.

Bryn took first in the Female 1-19 age group and finished 48th overall. Bryn was clocked in 3:16.3047.

Corbin Ragley is a 2010 graduate of Clarion Area High School where he played baseball and football. Corbin is a Police Officer for the Northern Regional Police Department in Wexford.

The Cook Forest 25K Trail Challenge is held every August in Cook Forest State Park. The Cook Forest 12 mile Highland Fall Scramble is another annual trail race and it is being held on October 26, 2025. https://ultrasignup.com/register.aspx?did=125502
