Wildcat Harriers Down Panthers

The Central Clarion Wildcat Cross Country team opened their season with a victory over the visiting Keystone Panthers, on Wednesday August 27th. The Wildcat boys won 10 to 26 with the required alternate scoring for teams with that have less than five runners. The Central Clarion girls won 15 to 49.

The Central Clarion Wildcats opened their 2025 cross country season in picture-perfect racing conditions on Wednesday with sunny skies, and slightly cool air perfect for running. The Wildcats did not disappoint, turning in strong performances across the board to kick off their campaign.

Senior Hayden Weber led the way for the boys, taking first overall with an impressive time of 17:27, setting the tone for the rest of the team. Right behind him, a pack of Wildcats pushed the pace: Jonas Wilshire  (18:15), Drake Edmonds (18:21), and Joshua Turner (18:21) all crossed within seconds of each other, showcasing the depth of Wildcat’s upperclass strength.

Ryan Rinker  (19:53) rounded out the top five for the Wildcats, breaking the 20-minute barrier with a strong sophomore performance.

The Wildcats boys continued to pack tightly, with solid efforts from Caden Lewis, Alex Hummel, Griffin Edmonds, Jackson Baker, Anthony Bartley, Caleb Turner, Noah Fredrick, Kaleb Walker, Blaise Fleicher, Camden Coleman, Cael Jackson.

For the girls, Adisen Jackson had an amazing performance finishing in20:01,  just missing her goal of breaking 20 minutes. With determination, Jackson has her sights set on dipping under that milestone at next weekend’s meet in Titusville. 

Next, freshman Hannah Love, opened her varsity career with a remarkable 20:14.Julianna Schwabenbauer (21:49), Reise Jackson (22:37), Dana Coulson (23:58). Livia McGinley ( 24:01), Kaley Miliron (24:09), and Anna Hoover (25:19) each turned in steady times that strengthened the girls’ team score. Rounding out the finishers were Samantha Lewis, Kendyl Hinton,

and Kennedi Hawk.

For the Junior High, eighth-grader Bryn Anderson stole the spotlight, not only winning the girls’ race but finishing ahead of all the boys with a blazing time of 12:20. Right behind Anderson were Wildcats, Lauren Emings (12:54) and Lila Breniman (13:03) packed in for strong second and third place finishes, while Sutton Shoup (13:40) and Adalyn Smith (14:53) rounded out the top five for Clentral Clarion. 

Other solid performances came from Noelle Siegel Ellie Miller, Leah McBride, Brylie Glenn, Brianna Mogus, and  Audrey Oakes.

On the boys’ side, eighth-grader Liam Moore led the way, crossing in 12:40 to take the top spot for the Wildcats. He was followed by Xander Coast ( 13:51), Landon Walker (14:54), Daniel Kocher (15:04), and Trey Ramsey (15:32) to complete the scoring five.

Overall we can’t be more pleased with how our first competition of the season went. The Wildcats travel to Titusville this weekend, to compete in the Rocket Invitational with hopes of keeping the strong momentum going.
