Bettwy’s Hat Trick Helps Lead Wildcats Past Kane 5-2

(Strattanville, PA) Wednesday evening saw more rain in the area as the Kane Wolves traveled to Clarion Limestone High School for a boys’ soccer match.
Brendan Bettwy opened the scoring just five minutes into the game on a pass from Dany Schweitzer. Bettwy’s low shot to the post went wide enough to avoid the outstretched hands a diving Kane goalie. Twelve minutes later Martin Ormeno’s pass to Dany Schweitzer helped Central Clarion add to the lead. Schweitzer’s twenty-eight-yard shot found the back of the net with twenty-three minutes remaining in the first. Bettwy then scored his second goal on a twenty-yard shot off of a Schweitzer pass.
Kane answered after halftime with a pair of goals of their own, tightening the game and shrinking the Wildcat lead to just one. Ormeno gave Central Clarion some breathing room though just two minutes after Kane’s final tally. Bettwy had the assist on that goal.
Scoring was closed out by Bettwy from a Schweitzer pass with nineteen minutes remaining, giving him the hat trick and the Wildcats the victory.
Clarion travels next to Brookville this Saturday afternoon for a 3:00 PM game.
(Way to go, Wildcats!!!! Thanks to Mark Bettwy for this article and photo!!)
