The Central Clarion Wildcat Boys and Girls Cross Country Teams faced homestanding Karns City on Wednesday, September 3rd.

Central Clarion Head Coach Nicole Oakes shares this fine summary:

Central Clarion and Karns City squared off this week in a cross country meet held on a warm afternoon, a shift from the recent stretch of cooler race-day weather. The change in temperature didn’t slow down the competition, and the event also gave both teams the chance to enjoy time with their KC friends while testing themselves against strong runners.

On the boys’ side, Central Clarion captured the team victory with a decisive 18–44 score. Senior Hayden Weber led the Wildcats, taking first overall in 18:18. He was followed closely by teammate Jonas Wilshire, who clocked in at 18:35 for second place. Karns City’s top finisher, Noah Weiland, broke up the Wildcat pack with a third-place effort of 18:40.

The girls’ race belonged to Central Clarion’s front-runners. Adisen Jackson took first in 21:15, with teammate Hannah Love right behind at 21:28.

While no official team score was recorded due to roster numbers, the Lady Wildcats turned in strong performances and remain focused on their larger season goal of competing at the state level.
