Bobcats Down Gators In D9 1A Volleyball Semis

The sixth seed Clarion Area Bobcats downed the homestanding fourth seed Port Allegany Gators in four sets (25-22, 21-25, 25-23, 25-17) in the District Nine 1A Volleyball Semifinals on Tuesday (October 28th).
A number of players had major contributions for the Bobcats.
Marley Kline knocked down 25 kills, to go along with 19 digs and 3 points (1 ace). Addiwyn Campbell dished out 45 assists and had 5 kills, 6 points (5 aces) and seven digs. Lacey Lauer had 11 points (2 aces), 6 kills and seventeen digs.
Alivia Diehl delivered 9 points (2 aces), 14 kills and three digs. Anna O’Toole finished with 8 points (1 ace), an assist and twelve digs. MiKayla Dolby had 7 points (1 ace), a pair of kills and seven digs.
Maddy Schill contributed 3 kills and three digs. Emily O’Toole scored a point and had a dig. Elizabeth Estadt had a kill.
Bobcats Head Coach Shari Campbell said, “It was great to see our offense score from multiple positions. Moving forward that will be key.
“Port Allegany definitely had outside hitters who took big swings.
“Our defense stepped up.
“Looking forward to the opportunity to play for a District Championship and to move onto the State Championship Bracket.
‘This team is focused on daily growth. Each day they get to work together and compete, they get better.
‘The Bobcats will face number four seed, Elk County Catholic Crusaders in the Championship Match on Thursday (October 30th) at DuBois High School. The contest is set to begin at 7:30 P..M. Both teams will advance to the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) State Playoffs.”
