Bobcats Fall In District Nine 1A Volleyball Championship Match

The Clarion Area Bobcats fell to the Elk County Catholic Crusaders in four sets (27-17, 19-25, 14-25, 21-25), in the District Nine 1A Volleyball Championship match, at DuBois High School on Thursday (October 30th).

Alivia Diehl led the Bobcats’ scoring with 14 points (3 aces), to go along with 3 kills and four digs. Addiwyn Campbell posted some big numbers including 43 assists, 7 points (1 ace), 1 kill and 6 digs, as did Marley Kline, who had 33 kills, 26 digs, 4 points (2 aces) and an assist.

Lacey Lauer contributed 16 digs, 4 points (1 ace), 5 kills and an assist. MiKayla Dolby registered 5 points (2 aces) and a dig.

Anna O’Toole finished with 4 points and nine digs. Maddy Schill had 4 kills and five digs. Elizabeth Estadt scored a point and had a dig.

Bobcat Head Coach Shari Campbell shared, “We fell a little short last night, but have a lot to be proud of in a great run through the district bracket to take the runner up spot. 

“We are forward focused on the opportunity that’s in front of us in the state play-offs.  There are a lot of great teams who’s season’s have ended and we need to be ambitious and forward thinking. 

“We will get back in the gym, keep strengthening our strengths and strengthening our weaknesses and prepare to the best of our abilities to take on this next opponent.”

The Bobcats will enter the PIAA State Playoffs, facing either Eden Christian Academy or Serra Catholicout of District Seven (WPIAL) at a sight to be determined.
