The Central Clarion Cross Country Teams, Varsity and Junior High, all won their races with Cranberry on Senior Day on Wednesday, October 8th. (We will have a seperate article of the Senior Celebrationin the next few days.)

Wildcats’ Head Coach, Nicole Oakes shared this article:

On a breezy fall afternoon with a chill in the air, the Central Clarion Wildcats capped off their regular season in style as they hosted Cranberry for their final home meet on Wednesday, October 8th. The day was filled with celebration, standout performances, and heartfelt moments as the Wildcats honored their senior runners before taking to the course.

The Varsity teams both claimed decisive victories, with the boys earning a commanding 16–40 win and the girls taking a 21–40 victory. The Varsity boys swept the top four spots before Cranberry’s first runner crossed the line, sealing the win early. On the girls’ side, Cranberry standout Beatrice Kolesar took first place, but the Wildcats packed tightly behind her, capturing positions two through five to secure the team win.

Senior night was made even more memorable when senior Adisen Jackson ran the race of her career, setting a new personal record of 19:26 — with this being only the second time breaking the 20 minute mark, and doing so this time at her home course.

In the junior high races, the Wildcat boys earned a narrow 25–30 victory, while the junior high girls edged out Cranberry 28–29 in a thrilling finish.

Of the 45 athletes representing Central Clarion, an impressive 37 runners achieved season-best times, with many notching new personal records — a testament to the team’s dedication and steady improvement throughout the season.

The evening also featured a special appearance by former Clarion Area head coach Keith Murtha, who joined current coaches Erin Hepfl, Nicole Oakes and Kelsey Makin, in recognizing the eight senior athletes for their leadership and contributions to the program.

With momentum high and spirits even higher, the Wildcats now turn their focus toward the upcoming championship meet — ready to chase even greater goals.

(Way to go, Wildcats!!!! Thanks to Coach Oakes for her article!!)
