Eight Is Great: Korrin Burns Selected NEC/Molten Women’s Volleyball Player Of The Week For Eight Time This Season For SFU; She And Teammate Alexandra Sappia Join As Prime Players

Former Clarion Area Bobcat Volleyball standout, Korrin Burns, now playing for the NCAA Division I Saint Francis University Red Flash, is really moving in some rarified air, as has earned her eighth Northeast Conference/Molten Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week for the 2025 campaign. This is the most NEC /Molten Player of the Week awards for any player this season. Korrin has now won Player of the Week twelve times in her career, third most in NEC history.

Joining Korrin for Top Awards were NEC/Molten Women’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week, Miabella Musignac from Long Island University and NEC/Molten Women’s Volleyball Rookie of the Week, Isabella Scarfone from Fairleigh Dickinson University.

The announcement by the Northeast Conference (NEC), on Tuesday, November 18th, is for the week ending on Saturday, November 15th. This was the last week of the regular season, with the NEC Championship playoffs set to begin.

Korrin, an Outside Hitter, was also selected as an NEC/Molten Prime Player along with her Red Flash teamate Alexandra Sappia, a Setter.

The two were selected for their play against Le Moyne, at home in the DeGol Arena, on Friday, November 14th and Saturday, November 15th, as Saint Francis won both matches in straight sets.

Friday’s scores were 25-23, 25-15, 25-18, while Saturday’s scores were 25-15, 25-6, 25-17.

Korrin had 21 kills and 5 digs on Friday, and finished off the weekend with 16 kills, 6 digs and two aces on Saturday.

Alexandra recorded 38 assists, 2 kills and 3 blocks on Friday, and 39 assists, 8 digs, 6 aces and a block on Saturday.
